Veriback on reseller recruitment drive

Auckland online backup and data protection company Veriback wants to appoint between 50 and 200 resellers over the next two years, as it expands in the local market.

The company, which began operations in mid 2010, currently has two local resellers.

The Veriback software has been developed for businesses requiring a high level of data protection, such as medical centres and government agencies.

Sales manager Ben Goudie-Park claims the company’s backup verification service, Backup Verify, is a point of difference to other products on the market. Companies utilise the service to have backups tested weekly or monthly by sending Veriback data on tape, USB drive, CD, DVD or Blu-ray. After testing, the client firm will receive detailed reports to deal with any issues that have been detected.

Goudie-Park says the company also offers an online server mirroring and rebuild service.

“We want to partner with around 50 to 200 resellers depending on the number of clients they each have in the local market. We’re looking for resellers ranging from IT professionals to one man bands.”

He says it is targeting resellers in the main centres of Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch and will then focus on provincial areas.

“We would like to reach provincial customers, because we think they’ve been neglected and our product offering can help them out.”

He says the company is also offering resellers monthly commission payments and an online portal.

“Commission starts at 20 percent and goes up to 40 percent depending on the sales volumes. They get online updates [through the portal] and can see how they are tracking with sales.”

Veriback has four staff. It plans to open an office in Sydney late next year to take on the Australian market.
