Australian communications software vendor Platform46 plans to recruit four more resellers locally in mid-2011, after building its presence in the Australian market.
The company was established in early 2010 and works with Optimation and Intergen locally.
Platform46 CEO Tim Ayling likens his firm’s software to an in-house version of social networking site Twitter.
“Within a customer relationship management system, it can publish information such as when an employee has made a sale and new customer opportunities,” he says.
“We’ll be looking for product specialists as opposed to general resellers. We are not being aggressive yet [in New Zealand] as we want to prove the software in Australia first.”
He also plans to appoint a partner manager, based in Sydney, to look after resellers in the ANZ market. At present the company has six staff in Australia. Ayling is also looking to hire technical staff across the ditch.
Partners that sign up to Platform46 can try the software for free in order to understand it better. They can implement it within their business to track sales. Prospective partners are also being offered an incentive for the first three customers that they sign up to the software.
“Partners usually get 25 percent margin, but it is now 50 percent for the first three customers,” he says.
Resellers also receive access to training and marketing tools.
In addition to New Zealand, Ayling plans to market the software in the UK, US and India next year.
