Microsoft NZ picks Vodafone for Windows Phone 7

Microsoft’s much anticipated Windows Phone 7 will be launched initially on the Vodafone network later this month.

Window Phone 7 was officially unveiled in the US today and goes on sale in New Zealand later this month, according a press release issued by Microsoft New Zealand this morning.

Microsoft business manager for windows phone Mark Bishop says Phone 7 “has the smartest of smarts and Microsoft is set to compete aggressively with other offerings.”

In New Zealand more than 1700 people have downloaded the developer tols for building applications for the Windows Phone 7. According to Gen-i, the Windows Phone 7 is already generating a lot of interest from customers and the company is currently taking pre-orders for a November delivery of the LG Optimus 7Q Windows Phone 7 device.
