Chris Barton joins Clearswift

Clearswift has appointed Chris Barton as its regional channel manager for the Asia Pacific region.

Barton will be based at Clearswift’s regional headquarters in Sydney and will focus on increasing and developing the company’s partner relationships, together with its distributor, Distribution Central, within the Catalyst Partner Program.

Prior to joining Clearswift, Barton was the regional sales manager for Websense in New Zealand. He brings over 10 years’ experience in the IT security industry, having also worked with SonicWALL, as regional manager and channel manager (ANZ) and Sophos, as business development manager.

“Clearswift has extremely strong heritage in R&D, which clearly differentiates its product solutions and provides a strong opportunity within its existing customer and partner base, and in competitive environments,” commented Barton, adding that “partners in the Catalyst Program can expect a strong sales boost through a plan of aggressive promotional and marketing activities we’re rolling out imminently.”

For Phil Vasic, Clearswift’s regional director for the Asia Pacific region, “[Barton’s] industry relevant experience and contacts will create immediate opportunity”. “His appointment will also propel our position in Asia Pacific and uphold the financial growth we’ve achieved over the last eight quarters,” added Vasic.
