EMC expands Velocity Partner Programme

EMC has added new options and partner tiers to its Velocity partner programme as part of a bid to simplify programme entry, streamline training and ease access to the product portfolio.

The vendor has introduced an entry-level affiliate tier so partners can offer EMC’s products, undertake online training and gain benefits and rewards. Partner who join this tier can be certified to offer own-branded services based on EMC technology.

In addition, Premier and Signature tiers are now linked to new specialties which reward partners who invest further with EMC. The Premier level gives benefits to those who achieve a Velocity speciality, while Signature partners commit to EMC technical expertise by achieving multiple specialties and advising customers about the private cloud.

The four areas of specialty are: consolidate, advanced consolidate, backup and recovery and governance/archive. EMC plans more specialties including an RSA-based security specialty.

The new tiers will be available on 1 January.
