Prolin opens ANZ office, seeks local resellers

SaaS-based IT service management (ITSM) specialist Prolin has expanded into the ANZ market with a newly-opened office in Melbourne and is now seeking channel partners in New Zealand.

The Melbourne office is led by Hans-Karel Fros, the company’s head of field operations for Prolin Asia Pacific. Fros says there is a significant opportunity for Prolin’s offerings in the region: “Prospects and resellers in Australia and New Zealand have responded, big time, to our initial outreach,” he says.

The company seeks to establish a strong partner network in New Zealand. “Contacts have been made and we are still open to applications from potential partners,” Fros says.

The opening of the Melbourne office is part of a larger expansion plan in the Asia Pacific region. Prolin has not ruled out the possibility of a physical presence in New Zealand, but for now local resellers will be supported by staff at the Australian headquarters, as well as those in the US and Europe, through Prolin’s “Follow the Sun” sales and support programme.

“When the need arises to establish a local presence in New Zealand, we will certainly do so. We plan to frequently visit our partners and assist wherever we can,” he says.

ITSM is a very mature market in Australia and New Zealand, he says, and there is “an excellent opportunity for Prolin to introduce the ITSM as a service solution for HP Service Desk 4.5”.

“Establishing a presence in Australia and New Zealand will give us great exposure into the rapidly growing markets in the entire region, so increasing our investment here is the logical thing to do.”

Prolin is headquartered in California and has research centres in the US and the Netherlands. Setting up in Australia is the company’s first move outside of the US and Europe.
