Local unified communications specialist Zeacom is hosting a series of events across the Tasman in coming weeks, to inform partners about the company’s new deal with Distribution Central and the efforts to expand its reseller network in Australia.
Zeacom signed the partnership with Distribution Central in Australia earlier this month.
According to Stephen Sarjeant, Zeacom’s Australian country manager, the agreement is the result of the company’s move to “harmonise the market strategy with Avaya, who have also moved to a distributor model”.
Distribution Central’s specialist unified communications business unit now deploys Zeacom’s unified communications, contact centre and business process automation solutions on Avaya systems.
Sarjeant didn’t know how many resellers Zeacom currently has in Australia, but says it has five or six key resellers for each of its technologies. The company’s strategy is to expand the partner base, but it has no specific target numbers.
The Distribution Central partnership is not the first time Zeacom has appointed an Australian distributor. In 2004, IPL Group was appointed as its second distributor, alongside NEC Business Solutions. That year, the partnership with NEC was renewed for seven years.
Under the Distribution Central deal, Zeacom expects to increase specialised technical support to its Australian resellers of Zeacom Communications Centre (ZCC), while at the same time creating a direct presence in Queensland.
“ZCC is an increasingly popular, unified communications and contract centre solution for Avaya users locally and internationally. This partnership with Distribution Central creates an important channel for Australian resellers and their customers to take advantage of the richness of ZCC on Avaya telephony systems,” says Sarjeant. “This is a new development for us and a good opportunity. They are a very impressive company.”
The partnership increases Distribution Central’s unified communications portfolio. According to Nick Verykios, the distributor’s sales and marketing director, Distribution Central’s reseller support services include pre-sales technical support, post-sales field support, configuration, renewal and asset management, training and education programmes and channel marketing programmes.
