Datacraft and McAfee have partnered to launch a software-as-a-service security platform here that may be the forerunner of a global offering.
The new platform and services will be rolled out this week as an extension to one.govt and one.biz. The solutions are designed to protect enterprises from email and web-based threats in the cloud before they reach the corporate network.
“This is a pioneering partnership,” says Datacraft McAfee SaaS director Richard Bowman.
“The key advantage is that it can be implemented almost immediately, with zero hardware costs and minimal on-going operational requirements. The service is based on the same scalable, globally delivered SaaS architecture that power McAfee SaaS email and web security solutions in North America.”
Datacraft is the only McAfee service provider partner in New Zealand. It approached McAfee a year ago about developing the SaaS platform for the market here.
Phil Goodwin, Datacraft general manager marketing, says the roll-out is being watched closely by Datacraft owner Dimension Data, with a view to taking the service further afield. Read more at Computerworld.
