The Bay of Plenty Polytechnic has called for proposals for a new wifi network at its Windermere and Bongard campuses. The two main campuses are connected via a 10GB Ethernet network and the Polytechnic uses a variety of networking gear from HP Procurve, Cisco and Extreme, along with PoE and non-PoE switches. The Windermere campus is on the southern side of Tauranga and the Bongard Centre in Tauranga City houses the Polytechnic’s Business Studies School. There is also an Edgecumbe campus which houses the Agriculture Centre. Bay of Plenty Polytechnic had about 366 full-time equivalent staff members and total equivalent full time student numbers of 3,247 at the end of last year. The deadline for proposals is 9 December.
