Skyzer on expansion trail with Marson

The local business of Skyzer Technologies is on a growth drive following the recruitment of new general manager Steve Marson.

Skyzer distributes the Ingenico range of Eftpos terminals and offers point of sale software and communications links.

Marson was general manager at Vantex, which was subsequently acquired by Ingram Micro, and left the distributor recently after a restructuring of its solutions group.

He says his appointment will be closely followed by more before the end of the year.

“I’m looking to keep the core of the business intact from a technical perspective. We are very strong technically because we support different product sets and lots of customers across New Zealand. We need to expand that side of the business and bring on another technical role such as a product manager, but also need additional sales people.”

The business has recently outgrown its premises on Auckland’s Great South Rd and moved to a larger space in the suburb of Mt Wellington. However, Marson expects it will outgrow its current space within one to two years. Skyzer currently has 10 staff locally, having set up here in 2007. It is headquartered in Sydney.
