Exeed joins Samsung distributor base

Samsung has chosen to add Exeed as a distributor alongside incumbent Ingram Micro.

The newly-appointed distributor sees an opportunity to develop its business in the sub-tier one retail market, says Exeed managing director Justin Tye.

“We have a good relationship with Smiths City in the South Island. We haven’t typically played in that sort of layer of retail, such as the corner store retailer.”

Exeed was also attracted to the opportunity to complement its HP product range, Tye says.

“They have products in the notebook and printer and monitor space which we have traditionally sold with HP.”

Exeed was approached by Samsung because his company has achieved strong growth recently, Tye says.

Samsung says the addition of the new distributor is driven by growth plans for the local market, including new categories that increase the breadth of its IT offerings.

“The people at Exeed have demonstrated a history of great sales and marketing achievements and will be complimentary to Samsung’s existing distribution partner, Ingram Micro," says the vendor's head of sales for consumer electronics and IT, Daryn Rickwood.
