Solarwinds expands in Pacific with Brisbane HQ

American IT management software vendor Solarwinds has opened a regional headquarters in Brisbane to aid its expansion into the Asian Pacific market.

The Brisbane office will serve as a hub for expanding partnerships in the region and will include a development team to help localise its products, as well as sales support. The IT management software maker is seeking to enter new markets, including Japan, according to a company announcement.

"We see tremendous opportunity for SolarWinds in this region,” says Solarwinds President and CEO Kevin Thompson. “Through the addition of the Brisbane office, we intend to continue the expansion of our presence...opening markets where we have previously not offered our products.”

The new office will be headed by SolarWinds senior vice president of engineering Doug Hibberd, who was recently named the company’s general manager for Asia-Pacific operations, and Gary Angel, vice president for sales in Asia-Pacific.

SolarWinds makes network, application and storage management products. It has 97,000 clients around the world.
