Contest seeks perfect sales pitch for Cisco

Hardware vendor Cisco is inviting channel partners and internal account managers to work together on the perfect sales pitch for one of three Cisco architectures.

Cisco’s Perfect Pitch competition teams up a partner account manager with a Cisco or distributor manager of their choice to come up with a “CEO-level” IT pitch for Data Centre/Virtualisation, Collaboration or Secure Borderless Networks.

“It’s an opportunity for internal account managers to train partners in sales pitches,” says Suzanne Hansen, marketing and operations manager. “The end game for us is to increase the sales competency of our partners.”

The grand prize for the winning pitch is a trip to Paris, Africa or Hawaii, with smaller prizes for finalists and semi-finalsts along the way. Registration opened in mid-November and continues through December 17.

The contest is part of the company’s recent shift to a partner-led model across the Asia Pacific region as reported by Reseller News.

Hansen says there are already 60 teams registered for the trans-Tasman competition, with New Zealand well-represented. Nine finalists will be flown to Melbourne to compete for the grand prize at Cisco Live! in late-March/early-April.

Hansen anticipates at least three of the finalists will be from New Zealand. For more information, visit the contest website.
