Eagle halts Talk and Chalk

Eagle Technology's Talk and Chalk vendor showcase seems set to be short-lived with the company deciding not to repeat the event this year.

After the inaugural event last February, Eagle's enterprise solutions manager Mike Cribbens told Reseller News last June the trade show would become an annual event after attracting 500 visitors in Auckland.

“In a lot of cases our clients aren’t fully aware of the tools and solutions that are out there. A few years back you could go along to all the IT shows, get the vendors in one room and target the ones you were interested in. We don’t have those days anymore, so after talking with vendors there was a sentiment that we should do something,” Cribbens said at the time.

However, he now says Eagle is not planning to hold the event this year. “We’re not planning it, certainly not for the short term anyway.”

According to the company's marketing coordinator, Sarah Macdonald, the event has been put on hold, mainly due to a company reshuffle last year that resulted in Warren Tait taking charge of the event's organisation. Macdonald adds Tait and the company's sales team are currently "focused on other opportunities", which is why Talk and Chalk has been put on hold.
