NZ Economic Ministry to seek GETS replacement

NZ Economic Ministry to seek GETS replacement

The Ministry of Economic Development (MED) released advanced notice of its intention to issue a Registration of Interest (ROI) to replace the Government Electronic Tender Services (GETS) solution, according to a statement released on GETS.

The system, provisionally titled “Next Generation Government Electronic Tender Service” (NG GETS) will be the website for advertising central, local and wider agency New Zealand government procurement opportunities.

MED anticipates issuing an ROI in March, with a deadline four weeks later, followed by a request for proposal. GETS says it released the notice so that potantial suppliers could prepare an ROI, securing resources and broaching potential partners.

MED says the GETS system was originally built in 1996 for New Zealand Trade and Enterprise and ownership was transferred to the MED in 2008. A replacement system is necessary to meet current business needs, integrate with other MED resources, and to operate on multplie platforms including mobile devices, PCs and Mac, among other reasons.

Watch the GETS website for more updates.
