Cisco announces partner programme for cloud

Cisco systems announced a programme to help partners take their business into the cloud, the company announced.

The programme will provide technical certification and market development funds for partners the company sees as providing various levels of cloud services.

According to a press release, the Cloud Builder programme will be for partners that design and implement cloud-ready infrastructures; the Cloud Provider programme will be for partners offering their own brand of Cisco-powered public cloud services; and the Cloud Services Reseller will complement the Cloud Provider track.

“We’re really offering a programme that involves a whole set of technical and commercial training and certification that we think bring up the qualifications and the quality of execution of this whole area,” says Geoff Lawrie country manager for Cisco.

The company did not say how many partners it would seek to engage in New Zealand in these programmes.

“We’re going to move forward in a very considered and commercially sound way and make sure that what we do is sustainable in our market with sustainable partners,” Lawrie says.
