Trend Micro launches new partner programme

Trend Micro has announced the launch of its Prospect Leads programme for the company's small business solutions.

The company is looking to work more closely with partners to help them get more prospects, by providing qualified local leads.

“We ran a survey with partners to understand the good, the bad and the ugly, if you like. As a result, we adjusted the partner programme,” says David Higgins, Trend Micro’s channel director for the ANZ region.

The programme is available to Trend Micro partners across Australia and New Zealand. Qualified leads will be provided subject to availability and upon the discretion of Trend Micro’s lead allocation process.

According to Higgins, the goal is to “help resellers expand their business” and to give an “incentive to continue managing existing customers, as well as getting new ones”.

The channel director says the company currently has around 10 major partners in New Zealand, as well as 30 to 50 SMB partners. The company has no current plans to increase these numbers in the foreseeable future, as its focus is now on engaging with the existing partners.

The company has also hired a new partner manager, Mereani Talbot, based in Auckland. Talbot came to the company earlier this year from APC where she was channel manager.
