Web and email security solutions provider M86 Security last month launched a new product designed for the SMB market.
The M86 SMB Security Suite includes the company’s Email Gateway, WebMarshal and other enterprise-level features, but is designed for organisations of up to 500 users on a subscription licence basis.
“We’re expecting some existing partners to switch to subscription model,” says Jeremy Hulse, M86’s Asia-Pacific vice president.
The company made the product available locally through channel partners on March 22, with multi-year discounts available ExpressData is M86 Security’s distributor in New Zealand.
Hulse says the SMB uses similar rules-based interface to the enterprise iterations of the company’s products. He adds that because it’s not set up through a single installation, customers have more control over what components they want to implement.
M86 has a staff of up to 60 employees in New Zealand, including the research and development team that developed the M86 SMB product. Hulse said the team was able to draw from experience of M86 clients in New Zealand to help develop the product.
The company has no plans to hire any more staff in support of the roll-out, but Hulse says the company will likely offer a partner programme in the second half of the year.
