Acronis offers free Red Hat trial

Vendor gives customers 15 days to kick the tires on Backup and Recovery product

Data protection and disaster recovery solutions provider Acronis's new offering is certified for Red Hat Enterprise Virtualisation 3.0.

The company's Backup and Recovery 11 can be previewed on the new Red Hat Market Place forum. The free trial is available there as well, according to a statement released by the company.

The 25-day trial version includes the migration of three production workloads from physical or other virtual environments to the new Red Hat Enterprise Virtualisation 3.0 platform.

“Acronis has been part of the Red Hat ISV ecosystem since 2006, and we continue to see a growing demand for our solutions on the Red Hat platform," says Karl Sice, Acronis Pacific GM, in a statement. "By achieving certification on this new platform, we can give enterprise customers the tools...to migrate data...knowing it can be protected immediately.”

Acronis last year ended its relationship with Distribution Central. Ingram Micro distributes for the vendor in New Zealand now, with Mindscape distributing Acronis retail products. The vendor had plans to conduct a roadshow in New Zealand this year, but those plans have not been finalised as yet, according to a company representative.
