Express Data gets Aastra in NZ

IP phone models specifically for Microsoft Lync 2010 software coming to NZ via Express Data

Express Data has inked a deal with enterprise communications vendor Aastra to distribute its range of IP phone models specifically for Microsoft Lync 2010 software.

"Everyone one who uses Microsoft Lync 2010 quickly becomes reliant on it as it makes communication more concise and hence more efficient, giving the option of Aastra 6725ip IP phone to those reluctant to not have a desk phone brings them into the Unified Communications world in a non disruptive way," says Paul Plester, general manager at Express Data in New Zealand. "It is great to have Aastra on board at Express Data to complement our portfolio of great products in the Unified Communications area."

According to Tony Warhurst, director of Sales and Marketing for Aastra in the ANZ region, "Express Data has a very strong, dynamic and growing business with an expanding channel network and strong relationship with Microsoft and Microsoft partners" and the vendor believes both companies can leverage that. "Adding the comprehensive SIP and Lync handsets from Aastra to their extensive product range will help both parties expand their reseller partners and extend an extremely strong working relationship with both resellers and customers of Microsoft and Broadsoft in New Zealand," he adds.

Express Data has recently announced that it has been selected by Microsoft as Value Added Distributor for Unified Communications. The distributor has been working with Microsoft in New Zealand since 1999. In 2010, Express Data New Zealand won the Microsoft Global Partner Award for Distribution and it has also won successive Microsoft New Zealand Distributor of the Year awards in 2010 and 2011.
