Observatory Crest founder joins ITB

Distributor expanding product range

Industry veteran Chris O’Shea has rejoined the industry as business development manager for ITB Distributors.

O’Shea, who founded Observatory Crest in 2002, has been working in the music industry for the past few years.

He joins ITB at a time when the distie is expanding its product range. The long-time Norman anti-virus product distributor has signed a sub-distribution agreement for Cyberoam unified threat management (UTM) appliances.

O’Shea says Cyberoam is the only UTM that offers identity-based security in addition to the complete set of security features over a single platform. “The features include an identity-based firewall, VPN, bandwidth management, load balancing, anti-virus, anti-spam and content filtering. We’re bundling it with Norman anti-virus and anti-spam.” Norman was the world’s first anti-virus product, introduced to the market in 1986. The vendor has expanded its range to include end-point security, device control, email protection, asset management, sandbox DNA matching and patch remediation. Cyberoam can work as a router, supporting BGP, RIP and OSPF routing protocols. ITB will also distribute the range of AppAssure backup tools. O’Shea says the tools sit in the VMWare, Hyper V, Exchange, SQL, SharePoint space, and also offer document retrieval for SharePoint.
