Brocade adds channel initiatives

Deal registration and more support added

Brocade has launched ‘deal registration’ to support its move into campus LAN projects.

Channel partners can now lodge a campus LAN network opportunity with Brocade on the range of ICX switches running Hyper Edge Technology.

Brocade is moving into the campus LAN market and is supporting its Alliance Partner Network with demo units and programme discounts so the channel can see for themselves how the new system works.

Graham Schultz, regional director, Australia and New Zealand says, "we believe that the HyperEdge solution is unique in the marketplace. It allows managing a stack of switches or multiple stacks through a single IP address. Campus can also now mix and match a stack of entry level switches together with higher functional switches and this means that the entire stack assumes the higher functionality. This provides a cost advantage and high availability through hitless failover at this price point.”

He says there is no time limit on deal registration and no minimum value to register.

Under the new deal registration program, qualified APN partners are eligible to receive additional discounts – above and beyond existing deal registration discounts – on secured deals that include Brocade ICX products.

APN partners can acquire campus networking equipment for sales presentations or to equip their lab environments at significantly reduced rates. APN partners may also use marketing development funds (MDF) to cover certain out-of-pocket expenses, allowing them to acquire demo gear, including new Brocade ICX products, at little to no cost.

Brocade is also enhancing its training resources with the launch of a new partner training site, including course material on the Brocade campus LAN portfolio.

A new technical accreditation, the Brocade Accredited Campus Networking Specialist, is also available to those partners looking to acquire knowledge and expertise about Brocade Layer 2/3 Ethernet products for campus networks.

Brocade will also broaden the scope of its rewards programme to include all its Ethernet networking products.

“With the introductions of the Brocade ICX product portfolio and the new campus-focused APN initiatives, Brocade is delivering on its promise of leveraging the strength of the channel to bring about IT transformation – while empowering our partners to be more competitive,” says Barbara Spicek, vice president of Global Channels at Brocade.

“We are focused on building technology solutions around the vision of ‘The Effortless Network,’ and extending that focus to our go-to-market strategy to help partners deliver radically simplified solutions that dramatically reduce network complexity and operational overhead.”
