New Zealand distie buys Melbourne-based Techplus Distribution

Connector Systems has announced the acquisition of Australian-based IT distributor Techplus Distribution.

The Australian distie, headquartered in Melbourne and with an office in Sydney, is a valued-added distributor of Virtualisation and WAN Optimisation products and software.

“The purchase of Techplus is a fantastic opportunity to grow our business in Australia,” says Dale Smith, managing director of Connector Systems. “In the short term we will be looking to leverage off our combined strengths and distributing a large portion of the Techplus product range in NZ and also distributing some of the Connector Systems products in Australia through Techplus," Smith adds.

According to Techplus' managing director Paul Kern, "the acquisition of Techplus Distribution by Connector Systems presents us with the opportunity to increase the value-added services we provide to our channel and to increase the range of market leading brands we have available".

"The resellers who already love dealing with Techplus will find even more products and services available to them and the resellers who are yet to experience the Techplus difference will be refreshed at the personalised service they receive," adds Kern.

Techplus represents a number of vendors in Australia, including Allot, Cyberoam, Celestix, Cymphonix, Ericom, Exagrid Systems, Igel Technology, Iomega, Kaspersky Lab, ManageEngine, ObserveIT, NetEx HyperIP, NetGenie, Perle Systems, Starwind Software, and Veeam Software.

Connector Systems says the acquisition is another step in the distributor's expansion in the Australian market.
