New cloud venture seeking resellers

Mark Loveys teams up with MYOB channel

Mark Loveys isn’t one to procrastinate. Last month he announced a management buyout of Enprise and plans to accelerate growth in MYOB Exo and Enprise’s SAP Business One applications development business.

Now, he’s formed a joint venture with MHA to take the products into the cloud.

Loveys was the cofounder of Enprise and the developer of Exonet, which was sold to Solution 6 some years ago for $A30 million. The product became MYOB Exo. In the interim, he sold another company, EMS Cortex, to Citrix for a rumoured $20 million.

Not surprisingly, he’s been inundated with enquiries from people wanting to know the key to his success, how to take such businesses to market.

Loveys and some partners also bought TNT Ventures’ 60 percent holding in Enprise.

“They wanted to put it on the market so we stepped in,” he says. “We felt that with all the channels we have, in the US, UK, South Africa – basically all the English-speaking countries – it was worth picking up.

“At the same time, through my role as chair of the SAP Advisory Council, I was getting approached by a lot of international companies, asking how they could get into Australia and New Zealand. Similarly, New Zealand companies were asking how they could go overseas.”

He says he formed a strategy to bring together software solutions for Enprise’s channel, as well as a model of how to find investors.

“Locally, with MYOB Exo there is huge demand. We’ve formed a joint venture with MHA (2cloud.biz) to put Exo into the cloud as an Australasian solution. We’ve teamed up with the MYOB channel.”

He says the primary focus, initially, will be on Australasia, then later tying in with other solutions.

“We’ve opening branches in all the major Australian cities.”

The joint venture provides cloud hosting around mid-market cloud expertise.

“We’re now looking for resellers,” Loveys says.

“Our plan is to bring in SAP products later.”

While the initial focus is on Australasia, eventually the cloud model will be used as the basis of a worldwide sales strategy.

“The emphasis is very much on the cloud.”
