Adobe says the release of CS6 is its bigger ever, with new features and enhancements to “every single product in the suite”, according to ANZ managing director Paul Robson.
“There are over 100 new features and over 600 enhancements to Photoshop, for example,” he adds. “These represent a dramatic saving in time to do some key tasks.”
According to Robson, the vendor is now “the largest supplier of HTML5 software on the planet”. “That is what enables us to fluidly adopt any screen size.” he adds, claiming that every part of Adobe's "technology stack" is now built for the mobile world.
On top of the new features, CS6 also includes two new products: post-production software Adobe Prelude, as well as the new Adobe SpeedGrade, for colour correction.
This month, the company held roadshows in Auckland and Wellington to update partners on the new products.
The launch of Creative Cloud, first announced earlier in the year but now in full force, is “a bold new move,” says Robson. “It transforms the way customers access our software. Instead of box and perpetual licence, they subscribe to a creative cloud membership. The benefit for the customer is that there is no need to wait to get the new release.”
The company says this is also an opportunity for resellers who can now offer this to customers as well. “There is a margin opportunity and revenue in any format,” says Robson. “This is huge for resellers. There is no better time to be an Adobe reseller.”
In March this year, Adobe announced the launch of a new channel programme in New Zealand, Partner Connection, claiming that this was only one of the many big new developments resellers should expect from the company this year. Creative Cloud was first announced in the same month.
