TomTom confirms agreement with Apple

Vendor responds to speculation

TomTom has confirmed it has signed an agreement to provide mapping information to Apple, following speculation that a deal was being signed between the two parties, further steering Apple away from Google.

"TomTom has signed a global agreement with Apple for maps and related information. No further details of the agreement are provided," says a spokesperson for TomTom.

TomTom is said to have worked on the deal for around one year.

The terms of the deal were not disclosed.
