Infrastructure and IT architecture solution vendor F5 Networks has strengthened its relationship with Westcon in the vendor’s first global distribution partnership.
With the newly announced relationship, the two companies now offer global programmes for traditional partners, managed service providers (MSPs) and global cloud providers.
“Organisations are increasingly global in nature, and our channel partners need specialised worldwide programmes to satisfy new requirements,” said F5 senior vice president Dean Darwin at the vendor’s Agility Summit 2012, this month in New York. “Cloud and service providers need a standardised approach to efficiently support all types of users and business efforts around the world. Through the partnership, we’ll be able to leverage Westcon’s network of globally focused resources and better serve the security and IT needs of customers worldwide.”
Westcon’s relationship with F5 Networks was already in place in the Americas and EMEA and APAC regions, including New Zealand.
“We are already heavily engaged with F5 [through] a number of strategic partners," says Dave Rosenberg, managing director of Westcon in ANZ. "It is a relationship which was signed up shortly with the Westcon acquisition and is continuing to build and gain strength. Our F5 partner network is growing and we are continuing to train and enable more specialised partners. The global agreement further strengthens our commitment, resource and training.”
F5 Networks first inked a distribution deal with Westcon in Australia and New Zealand back in 2010, shortly after Westcon's acquisition of Datastor. Before the deal in ANZ, Westcon was already representing F5 in seven other countries.
