Internet-based services company Power Business Services gets 2012 Westpac Auckland South Business award

Power Business Services (PBS) has taken home the Excellence in Information Management Award at the 2012 Westpac Auckland South Business Awards.

Desi Lorand, the company's founder and CEO, says the "smart electronic business services enable organisations to win the paper war by using technology to make life easier for their staff and generate significant cost savings at the same time".

The company has grown to 43 staff in the last five years and has four operations centres in Auckland, North Shore, Wellington, and Waikato. Its list of clients includes names like Fletcher Construction, Ministry of Health, NZ Transport Agency, Firth and Bunnings NZ.

"Due to our online services, PBS is ideally poised to take our services to an international market serviced out of New Zealand, and offering employment via the internet to areas in New Zealand that have low or no local employment opportunities," adds Lorand.

The local Westpac awards are run in the west, north and south business communities by Auckland Tourism, Events and Economic Development (ATEED).

"Information management and ICT is an important growth sector in Auckland, with innovative companies such as PBS leading the region's drive towards becoming an innovation hub for the Asia-Pacific," says Yvette Hellyer, ATTED's manager for Business Growth - South.

The Supreme Business Excellence Award winner for the south region was Ormiston Hospital.
