Sourcefire appoints first distributor in New Zealand

Partnership with WhiteGold extended to NZ

Sourcefire has announced the appointment of WhiteGold Solutions as its first distributor in New Zealand.

As part of this agreement, WhiteGold Solutions will now serve as a distributor in New Zealand of Sourcefire’s security solutions, including the FirePOWER appliance platform for both Next-Generation IPS (NGIPS) and Next-Generation Firewall (NGFW), as well as FireAMP Advanced Malware Protection.

The two companies were already partnering in the Australian market and have decided to bring that relationship across the Tasman.

“We began working with WhiteGold Solutions last year in the Australian market and have valued the company’s deep technical expertise and excellent channel marketing capabilities,” says Chris Wood, regional director for Australia and New Zealand at Sourcefire. “With a report from IDC predicting that Asia-Pacific will be the fast growing market for security appliances around the world, it is critical for us to establish strong relationships with distributors across Australia and New Zealand that can add significant value to our proposition.”

“We were seeking a vendor with world-class, leading technology, particularly with NGIPS, which is where we had a perceived gap in our portfolio,” says Leigh Howard, strategic advisor at WhiteGold Solutions. “We see strong alignment between Sourcefire’s channel partners and our own reseller customer base. Our expanded agreement with Sourcefire builds on our previous relationship and helps us to address the entire spectrum of security threats in New Zealand, as well as Australia.”

Sourcefire recently announced advanced malware protection for its FirePOWER appliance platform.
