Consulting and IT services provider Mahindra Satyam has appointed Bobby Gupta as head of ANZ operations to lead the company's intended "rapid growth" in the region. Based in Sydney, Gupta will take over leadership of the ANZ region after working with the company to grow its business in the Middle East and Africa. Gupta, who studied and worked in Australia for several years, joined Mahindra Satyam from IBM in 2009. He is replaced in the Middle East region by G B Kumar, an industry veteran who joined the company from Cisco Systems, where he lead Asia Pacific, Japan and China as managing director for Enterprise Services. “Both ANZ and Middle East & Africa (MEA) markets are high-growth opportunities for Mahindra Satyam, after we complete our merger with Tech Mahindra. We sense traction from clients, prospects and partners that gives us a great reason to lend more focus here. I am confident that the inclusion of Bobby and Kumar into the leadership will help us achieve our goals for Mission 2015," says Rohit Gandhi, senior VP for Asia Pacific, India, Middle East and Africa.
