OneNet launches tools for HP partners

New analytics tools for partners as a result of collaboration with University of Auckland students

OneNet has announced a suite of tools for HP Autonomy LiveVault partners that the company says will fill a gap in the analytics that have so far been provided by LiveVault, particularly to partners.

The new solution provides HP Autonomy LiveVault partners with rich data visualisation through dashboards, APIs for billing and reporting, as well as an automated "closing engine" for converting trials into paying customers.

The company, which has been an HP partner for over a decade and is a LiveVault service provider, says the new three "as-a-service" modules will significantly enhance the partner and customer experience for those using HP's cloud-based server backup solution.

"Through our partnership, we found gaps in the analytics provided, especially in the analytics for partners," says Roman Paljk, OneNet's general manager. "We spoke to HP about it, showed them, and then realised other partners were having this problem."

"Partners and customers using as-a-service solutions want to have important information about their services available at a glance, at their fingertips, from almost any device," says Michael Hoskins, OneNet's software development manager. "With OneNet’s suite of add-on LiveVault modules, they now have access to this information."

With the new modules, partners and customers can get clearer insight into usage and trends in their LiveVault backup environment, through the dashboard developed by OneNet. The dashboard also tracks past usage and growth and forecasts future data. Additionally, partners and customers who manage LiveVault Turbo Restore Appliances (TRAs) gain additional benefits from a specific dashboard used to track important usage parameters, thus allowing for uninterrupted data protection.

OneNet has developed an API that can be used to extract monthly LiveVault usage figures to feed into a partner's billing process, thus creating a single source of information for partners and customers.

The three modules combined, namely: Closing, Reporting and API, provide an integrated suite of tools for both Managed Services Providers and Hosting Services Providers.

“LiveVault has always been an industry-leading cloud-based backup solution and now, with the introduction of OneNet’s LiveVault modules, we have taken a significant step in enhancing our value proposition to LiveVault partners and customers," says HP Autonomy's director for Enterprise Data Protection, Stephen Spellicy.

OneNet began developing these modules about 18 months ago, with a team of students at the University of Auckland. Hoskins, who now works at OneNet, was one of the original members of the university team.

The modules have been in beta-testing stage and will be rolled out to the wider community within the next few months. LiveVault partners wishing to take advantage of these new features are invited to contact their local HP Autonomy LiveVault representative or OneNet directly.
