Maxnet to white label cloud services

Plans to use reseller channel, target end users.

Datacentre services provider Maxnet will be launching a trusted local cloud offering in Q3 this year. It will be white labelling the cloud services through its channel of 120 resellers acquired through the acquisition of DataLock as well as targeting end users.

Maxnet CEO John Hanna says its vision is to be New Zealand’s leading provider of trusted cloud services.

“Cloud is much more than an application; it’s hard stuff to deliver an available application from New Zealand. Being local is important because we are getting a large number of enquires from the people currently using rack space. Rack space is expensive.”

Hanna also announced that its rebranding with the tagline `tame the machines’ will be launched on May 1.

“We thought it was time for a refresh and get it out into the market.”

It decided to redesign its logo and create a new tagline after conducting market research last year.

“We wanted to see who was starting to buy services from organisations like ours. It became very clear that the CIO or CFO is going to sign off the IT costs.

“CFOs want IT to be like a dialtone and just be there. Tame the machines is designed to cut through the clutter. We wanted to tailor machines so people can stop feeling they are at the mercy of technology.”

Maxnet is locally owned and employs 50 employees. It is worth $14 million.
