Three partners take out Symantec awards

Datastor, Gen-i and Maclean Computing recognised.

Symantec recognised three companies at a dinner in Auckland last night to celebrate its 2010 Partner of the Year awards. The award winners are:

Pacific Distributor of the Year: Datastor

New Zealand Enterprise Value Partner of the Year: Gen-i

New Zealand SMB Value Partner of the Year: Maclean Computing

They were selected on criteria including overall performance in revenue, deal registration, technical and marketing investments, customer service excellence and certification.

Presenting the award to Datastor, Symantec's SMB sales director Steve Martin told partners the distributor had grown its business with Symantec 65 percent year on year and had focused heavily on Symantec's "right first time" metric for ordering processes. Symantec was earlier awarded Symantec's Asia Pacific and Japan distributor award.

Martin also said Maclean Computing was one of the vendor's top five partners overall and was the largest of these with an SMB focus. "They have had significant success with new customers and new opportunities," Martin said, adding Maclean had commited to joint marketing initiatives and had achieved more than 30 certifications.

Awarding Gen-i the Value Partner award for the 2010 financial year that finished in March, Martin said the award was based on certifications, specialisations and growth. "This partner has a number of baked in solutions as part of the go to market strategy," he said.

“Datastor, Maclean Computing and Gen-i’s dedication and commitment to the Symantec’s security, storage and systems management portfolio helped solidify their category wins this year,” says Symantec Pacific vice president and managing director Craig Scroggie.
