Cyclone Computers becomes Apple reseller

Creates new Apple division within the company

Cyclone Computers’ appointment as an Apple Authorised Education Reseller (AAER) is seen by the company’s managing director, Richard Morgan, as an opportunity to drive significant increase in delivery of educational content through digital media. The appointment means that Cyclone Computers can now sell Apple’s range of MacBook Pros, iMacs, iPods and iPads to educational bodies within New Zealand.

To better focus on this new market segment, Cyclone has created a new Apple division within the company.

“Students these days are increasingly digitally competent and technically literate. We see opportunities to deliver increasingly meaningful education by leveraging students’ interest in, and attachment to, these platforms,” commented the managing director.

“Through our partnership with Apple, we can utilise its products and education-focused applications to encourage this change in teaching dynamics in New Zealand,” he added.

Additionally, Apple has also appointed Cyclone Computers as its newest Authorised Service Provider (AASP), which means that the company can offer improved levels of service and support to their Apple customers in New Zealand.

“These two appointments demonstrate confidence in our expertise and abilities, and have helped cement our position as New Zealand’s largest locally owned supplier of IT equipment to the tertiary education marketplace,” said Morgan.

Cyclone will be targeting its strong customer-base in government and mid-to-large sized corporate organisations to improve delivery, service and support around their Apple requirements.

Cyclone Computers has an annual turnover of around $35 million and employs 48 staff in New Zealand.
