Fujitsu rolls out global cloud network

ANZ first to market after Japan.

Fujitsu yesterday announced the unveiling of its Global Cloud Services offerings, with Australia and New Zealand the first region for the debut outside Japan .

According to a statement released by the company Sunday, the rollout will have a global presence by the end of the year, with Tier III datacentres placed around the world, including Australia, Singapore, the US, UK and Germany.

“Twelve months ago cloud was niche. Because we’re delivering on our ambitious cloud program, we’re seeing customers moving key, mainstream business applications to the cloud,” says Cameron McNaught, group executive director - solutions and cloud Services for Australia and New Zealand. "[Now] we’re seeing customers moving key, mainstream business applications to the cloud."

Fujitsu ANZ’s Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) offering is already has customers such as IT service vendor CA Technologies. Consumer goods multinational Frucor and automotive manufacturer Toyota Australia recently announced they had joined the service, according to the statement.
