Security vendor hires Krieger for channel push

SafeNet has hired Eric Krieger, as its first regional sales manager

Security vendor, SafeNet, has hired Eric Krieger as its first regional sales manager.

Krieger was previously with Secure Computing for eight years, until it was bought out by McAfee.

He will be responsible for driving awareness for the company’s authentication solutions and its channel program.

“My role was created as a result of SafeNet’s desire to grow its channel,” Krieger said. “We’re an enterprise-focused organisation with deep involvement in major verticals like banking and finance, and defence.”

Krieger’s first point of focus will be to ensure the vendor has a clear, delineated channel structure.

itX is SafeNet’s Australian distributor.

“We have a two-tier channel and most of the channel partners were ones that I appointed when I was at Secure Computing,” he said. “What we’re trying to do is identify serious partners involved in the security space. Partners with a security practise and partners involved in helping customers with their security concerns.”

SafeNet is also looking to target resellers with expertise in both security solutions, and its key vertical industries including banking, finance, healthcare, enterprise and government. Some of its channel partners include Lightsource Technologies in Canberra, Shearwater Solutions, and TPP Group.

“We want to show our credibility and our involvement, and give resellers the opportunity to engage and deploy with us through customers,” Krieger added.
