D-Link and Tomizone Join Hands

D-Link and Tomizone have announced that Tomizone has joined D-Link's Global Alliance Program (GAP) for Solution Partner to integrate Tomizone's Wi-Fi hotspot software into select D-Link router models.

Users in India with Tomizone enabled D-Link routers can secure a broadband connection for Wi-Fi Hotspot sharing to provide paid Internet access to anyone. This means that creating a Wi-Fi Hotspot for anyone with intention to monetise broadband is simple with Tomizone's self-activation process. This solution also complies with the local Indian regulatory norms.

"This alliance is ideal for D-Link and Tomizone in securing a powerful opportunity for both parties to deliver more value to customers," said Tony Tsao, CEO and President of D-Link Corporation. "We see great potential opportunities in this alliance for large project deployments, with probable orders for hundreds of routers per project, especially targeting at Wi-Fi service providers and hospitality industry, such as hotels, cafes and even campuses requiring Wi-Fi Hotspot access service."

"This is another milestone - being D-Link's Solution Partner is further proof that our Wi-Fi services and technology is world-class and popular in D-Link's Tomizone-enabled product lines," said Steve Simms, CEO of Tomizone. "We've had an impressive uptake where customers have turned on the Tomizone hotspot function on their D-Link routers in the Australasian region to monetize their broadband. This agreement now lets Tomizone into a very exclusive club within D-Link from which their global business units leverage new product innovation and where Tomizone can leverage their global sales and distribution, offering Tomizone a great opportunity to penetrate new markets."

The Solution Partner Global Alliance Agreement between D-Link and Tomizone not only cements a close working relationship that has been on-going over the past two years and now both parties will introduce the Tomizone product into new markets which also enables D-Link to deliver hotspot service to provide greater benefits to more customers.

With the integration of Tomizone's software in D-Link's select routers, customers can now choose to enable the service function for setting up their own Wi-Fi hotspots to offer Internet access services to friends or public users. The Tomizone software billing platform will enable the collection of necessary data to bill users, govern usage, and manage all billing processes through Tomizone on behalf of the hotspot owner. This collaborative effort will also help customers reap greater benefits using D-Link Routers and will at the same time provide potential increased business opportunities for D-Link to win more projects.

India with only few thousand public hotspots has a great potential to leverage from this unique Wi-Fi solution offered by D-Link and Tomizone. One of the unique features offers roaming between any Tomizone Hotspot and with this, owners of large chain stores for example, could earn additional revenues.

In wake of recent events in India, it is crucial that any private Wi-Fi or public Wi-Fi Hotspot is sufficiently secured and all relevant data on Cyber Law Compliance is captured. With Tomizone Solution on D-Link routers, potential hotspot owners can not only secure their Hotspot for public usage, but are assured that user data is being monitored and stored for authorities on their behalf if required.

"Indian ISPs and other Service Providers can tremendously benefit from this alliance to offer this great proposition to their subscribers across segments. While the solutions offers great user-friendly features to both hotspot owners and customers, it offers great potential to profit from one's broadband connection." commented Girish Hiremath, Tomizone Country Head for India.

The Tomizone Service is currently available in D-Link wireless product models DI-524UP, DIR-300 and DSA-3600. A new range of D-Link wireless products will also support this service in the future.
