ViewSonic unveils novel LCD technology

ViewSonic has unveiled its first 120Hz desktop LCD technology at NVIDIA's NVISION 08 event in San Jose, Calif. ViewSonic claims that the 22-inch, 120Hz prototype delivers rich, colorful, blur-free video performance on traditional gaming, entertainment and graphic applications, while also delivering stereoscopic 3D when used with NVIDIA's GeForceStereoscopic 3D gaming technology. The first displays with ViewSonic's 120Hz technology are expected in India later in the year at select resellers. Pricing is not yet available.

ViewSonic claims that the 22-inch 120Hz display, coupled with 3ms gray-to-gray response time, provides better Motion Picture Response Time (MPRT) than the typical" fast-response" displays available in the market today, virtually removing the appearance of motion artifacts and ghosting. It also has features, such as integrated 2Wx2 stereo speakers and Dual Link DVI digital input. The display offers 1680x1050 resolutions, 300 units of high brightness and 1000:1 contrast ratio, as well as wide viewing angles.

The target audience for this product is professional gaming and entertainment industry.

"The launch of 120Hz ViewSonic monitor provides a relevant display solution for the customers who desire precision and a realistic 3D visual experience while gaming or for enjoying digital entertainment or on working on heavy graphics. Over the last few years gaming and home entertainment have been booming in India. The industry calls for fast response rates and a realistic visual experience to achieve absolute thrill. Also satisfying professional gamers requires advanced technology with highest standards. ViewSonic believes in leading the change and offering innovative display solutions to cater to even the toughest of the discerning user. "We believe gaming industry is in growth phase and requires relevant display solutions to help keep the momentum in the country. The growth in sales of games and gaming consoles over the last year justifies this statement", says Gautam Ghosh, country manager, ViewSonic.

ViewSonic 120Hz 3D monitors would be distributed in India through their premium channel partners catering to the professional gaming industry in India.

To promote this product they would work out a 360 degree marketing strategy involving rolling out channel as well as end user marketing programs which would be shared as and when finalized.
