HDS' Baxter heads to Singapore

Channels director will resign from the position and relocate to Singapore

Hitachi Data Systems channel director, Kerstin Baxter, has resigned from the position and is moving to Singapore.

Baxter took up the post in June last year. The decision to relocate to Singapore was based on family reasons, she said.

"Singapore will be very different as I've never been in Asia before, but I'm excited about the new opportunity and challenges," she said.

Baxter has been in Australia for 11 years. She spent nine years with Microsoft and built up her channel skills as partner group director before taking a role in software giant's public sector business at the end of 2006.

Baxter plans to stay in the HDS channel's role until at least the end of the vendor's fiscal year on March 31, and until a successor was found.

"HDS is keen for me to continue in another role [in Singapore], so we'll see how that pans out," she said. "I have been enjoying the position and working with the company - we've built up the channels team with new people and have been investing in growth. We've seen some very positive success with our partners and the strategy we have put in place."
