Dimension Data Holdings PLC Monday announced the launch of its VoiceSource offering, which, it says, is a complete and cost-effective outsourced solution for managing an organization's existing and future voice infrastructure.
According to the company, voice technologies are evolving rapidly, and many organizations are struggling to manage these changes. "Many organizations lack the specialized skills that are needed to manage and maintain complex voice infrastructures. Outsourcing this function has become an attractive option," says Jason Goodall, executive director of Dimension Data's converged infrastructure solutions division. Delegating the management of voice infrastructure to a third party, says the company, allows for potential savings in terms of operating expenses, and enables organizations to focus on areas where their competencies can be channelled toward improving revenue streams.
Dimension Data's VoiceSource offering, the company says, is based on the premise of allowing for a single point of responsibility and accountability. This, says the company, includes the responsibility for product suppliers, user training and the logging and resolution of faults. According to Dimension Data, VoiceSource also ensures that contract governance and innovation management are addressed professionally, and according to an organization's business requirements. "One of the primary drivers for selecting VoiceSource is cost savings," says Goodall.
The company says that service costs are reduced for telephony moves, additions and changes and organizations will also enjoy a decrease in both fixed and variable telecommunication costs. Consolidating the management of voice infrastructure, it says, reduces the administrative costs of managing multiple vendors and also ensures consolidated fault logging and reporting.
"Improved return on investment is realized by maximizing the use of customers' existing voice infrastructures," concludes Goodall.
