Details of additional awards yet to be finalised

Symantec plans to expand its local partner awards this year, with the inaugural event held last October set to become a fixture on the industry calendar.

Trans-Tasman SMB and distribution sales director Steve Martin confirms the awards will expand as the vendor bids to recognise more partners, but says he can’t comment on how many more awards will be presented or what the new categories might be. He says further details will be made available later in the year.

Two awards were presented in 2009, with Gen-i awarded New Zealand Specialist Partner of the Year and Axon taking out the New Zealand Enterprise Partner of the Year category. The companies were selected on criteria such as overall performance in revenue, technical and marketing investments, customer service and certification.

At the time, Symantec Pacific vice president and managing director Craig Scroggie said the winners made an “outstanding contribution” to Symantec’s local business.

“Their achievements benefit our joint customers immensely by helping them secure and manage their systems and information with our market-leading security, storage and systems management solutions. We value the local knowledge and hard work of all our partners tremendously.”
