Parallels opens ANZ office

Virtualisation vendor targets SME market

US based virtualisation and automation software vendor Parallels has opened an office in Sydney to better service the ANZ market. Its software, which includes Desktop 5 for Mac, is aimed at business, consumer and cloud/service providers.

The vendor is using distributors Conexus, Software Only and Renaissance. Parallels has had a local presence through distributors since 2006.

"We have seen the rapid local adoption of Parallels products over the last four years through our distributors, retail and service provider partners. The decision to open offices in ANZ was a direct result of this success and the identification of potential business in the consumer, business and service provider markets,” says Asia-Pacific vice president of Marketing and Alliances, John Eng.

"The large majority of businesses in ANZ are small-to-medium enterprises in need of high-quality IT services, but lacking the budgets to manage them in-house. Parallels enables SMEs to take advantage of technology when they need it and without complexity, so that they can stay focused on business," he says.
