NZ Police to replace intranet

Migrating from Aptrix to Sharepoint

By Reseller News Staff, Auckland | Thursday, 11 February 2010

The New Zealand Police is seeking suppliers of a replacement intranet system.

It currently uses an Aprtrix system but wants to upgrade to Microsoft Office Sharepoint server as the current intranet content management software application will not be supported by the supplier beyond 2011.

The platform was set up in the early 2000s and has become outdated.

According to tender documents the intranet does not provide for basic search functions, or the ability to develop new functionality to meet user demand. It is also complex to maintain and business units have difficulty updating their own site content.

The deadline for replies is Tuesday, February 23.
