Former Sun ANZ MD joins VMware

VMware also appoints Steve Coad as director of enterprise sales

Former trans-Tasman Sun Microsystems managing director Duncan Bennet has secured a new role as ANZ director of commercial sales at VMware, based in Sydney.

“I spent a lot of time looking at the industry, and VMware is one of the most exciting and high growth organisations within it,” Bennet says.

Meanwhile, Steve Coad has taken up the position of director of enterprise sales. Coad’s background includes roles with IBM, EMC and Cisco in the Asia-Pacific region.

VMware managing director Paul Harapin says the two new appointments will work towards achieving a greater maturity in the vendor’s local business.

“As we drive the benefits of virtualisation and IT as-a-service deeper into businesses, we will benefit from the insight these industry veterans bring to VMware,” he said in a statement.
