Datastor staff take on vendor roles

Robert van der Harst to join Lenovo, Zane Bryhn appointed at Dell

Two Datastor employees have traded distribution for local positions with vendors.

Robert van der Harst, who has worked for Datastor since 1995 and is its SMB channel manager, will join Lenovo on 1 April as channel account executive. He began working with the vendor a year ago on its server business, but says his role at Lenovo will also encompass desktops and notebooks.

Lenovo's ANZ channel director Callum Eade says van der Harst's appointment ensures the vendor maintains its local headcount following the departure of former account executive James Arnold, who has returned to Dell to become country channel manager.

Former Datastor IBM business development manager Zane Bryhn has joined Dell as business development manager for the New Zealand storage and services business. He had been at Datastor since July 2007.

Bryhn started his IT career in 1996 as a consultant for accounting software at Solution 6. In 2006 he was appointed Auckland branch manager of Insite Technology when it acquired Ultra Computers.
