Canon New Zealand has been selected as a printing provider to the state sector.

According to country manager Mike Johnston, the all-of-government contracts are expected to save over $20 million of tax payers’ money over the life of the three year contract.

“A new and open age of government procurement has begun and, both professionally and personally, I welcome it. The contract allows Canon to continue providing government with efficiencies and productivity that we provide to our business and customers daily and, by doing so, ensure that tax payer dollars are spent as effectively as possible,” he says.

Approximately 197 agencies will be able to leverage the deal, including government departments, tertiary institutes and health boards.

Johnston adds that the contract improves the ease by which businesses can enter into commercial arrangements with government.
