Quick Poll: Are brand stores a good investment?

Should vendors set up their own presence to boost a brand?

By Reseller News Staff, Auckland | Tuesday, 17 March 2009

In the new reseller.co.nz Quick Poll, we’re investigating the merits of brand stores, given the global renown Apple has achieved, and the fact Microsoft is thinking of jumping on the bandwagon by opening such stores overseas.

On the local front, Samsung representative Radiola recently closed the door on the brand store in Auckland. The store was part of an upmarket shopping quarter in the suburb of Newmarket, where there are other such stores for the likes of Magnum Mac (Apple products) and Sony.

In a recent print edition, Reseller News canvassed partner reaction to Microsoft’s consideration of the brand store concept, and found most supported the move.

So are these outlets the best use of a vendor’s funds, or should they be backing the retail and reseller partners already established?

Let use know by voting at reseller.co.nz and you could win Kaspersky Internet Security from SMSe Technologies NZ, worth $109.95.
