Network security vendor appoints WhiteGold

AEP Networks brought on as old vendor withdraws from ANZ market

IT distributor, WhiteGold Solutions, has become the second ANZ distributor of AEP Networks’ security products.
It joins Kaon Technologies who have been distributing AEP products locally for the past five years.

WhiteGold managing director, Dominic Whitehand, says the deal came about after its previous vendor became harder to work with.

“Array Networks tailed off and lost local support. They don’t have anyone in Singapore now either and that made it kind of difficult,” he said. “AEP approached us and on top of the very interesting SSL VPN technology they have, there’s also access to the other product they carry through the Vados range.”

Whitehand expected a revenue rise of A$2 million within 12 months thanks to AEP’s devices.
“A lot of the resellers moving into the MSSP [managed security services provision], ISPs and any guys in regional areas who are looking to provide secure remote access, will benefit,” he said.

A range of training, marketing materials and branding exercises will be announced shortly.
