Avaya appoints new APAC managing director

Rob Wells has taken up the role at the unified communications company

Unified communications (UC) vendor, Avaya, has knighted Rob Wells as managing director for Asia-Pacific.
Wells responsibilities will include driving overall business strategy to strengthen Avaya’s position in its core areas of UC. Based in Sydney, he will also provide leadership in Avaya contact centres.

In a press statement, Avaya Asia-Pacific president, John DiLullo, said Wells’ expertise in forging alliances will increase the company’s success through region.

Wells has 25 years of experience in the IT industry, assuming various roles in operation and general management in enterprise software, telecommunications and computing. Prior to his employment at Avaya, he spent four years as Vice President of Australia and New Zealand at SAP/Business Objects.

Wells also spent eight years at PeopleSoft, filling in roles ranging from vice president of North Asia to managing director for sales operations. He was also involved with Sequent Systems and Unisys.
