Dell SonicWALL has appointed Dicker Data New Zealand Limited as an authorised distributor for New Zealand, targeting small to medium-sized businesses across the country.

Terms of the deal will see Dicker Data distribute the vendor’s entire portfolio, including the recently announced Dell SonicWALL Secure Mobile Access (SMA) 100 Series OS 8.5 and SonicOS 6.2.6 firmware in New Zealand.

"This is an exciting step for Dell SonicWALL, as we continue to meet our commitment to both our New Zealand customers and partners,” Dell SonicWALL A/NZ general manager, Sandeep Joshi, said.

“This is great news for New Zealand resellers providing them with better access to Dell SonicWALL products and solutions.

“By partnering with Dicker Data New Zealand on our entire portfolio of products and solutions, we gain access to a broader and diverse channel.

"This enables us to give our customers a broad choice of leading SonicWALL security systems to suit their needs. We are looking forward to working closely with Dicker Data New Zealand.”

The agreement comes three months after Dell confirmed plans to sell its software division, including Quest Software and SonicWall, as the tech giant continues to shed assets ahead of its upcoming acquisition of EMC.

“Dell SonicWALL provide a competitive offering across all levels of the market, and their products are a great fit for our customer base,” Dicker Data general manager of Sales and Marketing, Phil Presnall, added.

“The SonicWALL solutions support customers across SMB through to enterprise, and provide a compelling offer in terms of value, performance and high availability.

“SonicWALL is a leader in SME/SMB security appliances globally with a strong footprint in the NZ market. Dicker Data has a strong focus on the SMB market in NZ so the partnership is ideal for us which we are very excited about.”
